This work was designed to cut through the clutter and send a strong message straight to the head and heart. In a sea of red and blue billboards saying "Vote for Labour" or "Vote for National", this juxtaposed message had huge impact. The campaign was extremely well-received by the press and public, and helped re-position the Greens away from the fringe and increase their mainstream appeal.
Most importantly, more people voted Green in 2008 than ever before and they grew the number of Green MPs by 50%.
